You Can Learn Guitar Easy

Anyone can learn guitar easy, unfortunately not everyone teaching guitar understands this. Over the past 20 years that I've been playing guitar I've met a lot of people who said they had always wanted to learn to play but were either afraid because they thought it would be too hard for them, or they had tried taking lessons but it wasn't what they expected and so they gave up.

I understand how and why that happens. The traditional model for teaching an instrument (it doesn't matter which instrument) is to first learn the mechanical basics, such as the proper way to hold, use and maintain your instrument. Then next will likely be about learning to read music (notes on paper) and play basic scales (groups of notes in a set pattern).

That all sounds pretty dull and tedious doesn't it? Especially for the average person who just wants to have some fun and learn to play a few of their favorite songs--which is the mindset of a majority of beginners.

Traditional instruction methods are perfect for training someone aspiring to become a professional musician, but the average person (even teens with Rock Star dreams) really isn't in that group, and typically become bored or frustrated with the learning process and quit.

That's why I'm a fan and advocate of teach yourself type courses for learning the guitar or any instrument. They tend to focus on learning to actually play a few easy and familiar songs right from the start, and then as you master those easy songs the course will gradually introduce you to more challenging songs.

This method works for most people because right from the start you are making music and having fun doing it, which fosters a sense of accomplishment that encourages you to continue advancing in the course. It's designed to build and grow from your successes.

And the best part is that as you make your way up through the levels you're still getting the same mechanics and fundamentals that traditional methods teach, it's just coming to you in a different order.

If you're someone who has long wanted to learn guitar, or who tried once but gave up from frustrations my suggestion is to find a quality teach yourself type course and give it another try. There's nothing better than expressing yourself or just leading a campfire sing-along, and now that you know you can learn guitar easy there's nothing to hold you back.
